      Emergency Preparedness This page provides guidance to the pharmacy industry for resources available during a declared emergency. The intended audience is healthcare industry providers who would need resource information for eligibility and claims processing affecting displaced individuals. The lack of an emergency plan could lead to severe losses such as multiple casualties and possible financial collapse of the organization. Since emergencies will occur, preplanning is necessary. An urgent need for rapid decisions, shortage of time, and lack of resources and trained personnel can lead to chaos during an emergency.

The plan is a principal control plan under the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation and forms part of the safety management system of the mine. The plan must include emergency procedures, training and testing of the plan.
